Reliability increase of wheel-motor unit condition diagnostics

Modern tendencies of operational growth and decrease of quality maintenance for electric trains set an urgent task of safety provision for rolling stock transportation.

The most important machinery condition of which indicates transportation safety is a mechanical part of the rolling stock, the wheel-motor units (WMU) in particularly.

Condition of bearing units included into the WMU (such as traction motor bearings and reducer bearings and journal bearings) directly influence its operation life.

The paper is aimed at researching a WMU condition diagnostic error for different rotation frequencies.
